Tulelake-Butte
Valley Fair Court Crowned
On Wednesday, April 30, 6 girls competed for two titles:
Miss Tulelake and Miss Butte Valley. A Panel of 6 judges
conducted interviews.
The applicants from Tulelake were Morgan Fensler, Marisol
Jaime, and Laura Plass. The Butte Valley applicants included
Emily Ball, Emily Rosecrans, and Nikki Schuetze.
The Committee of judges, who were very impressed with the
quality and depth of the applicants, selected Emily
Rosecrans as Miss Butte Valley and Laura Plass as Miss
Tulelake both of which will be eligible to receive a $250
scholarship to help further their continued education.

Emily
Rosecrans is a 16 year old Junior at Butte-Valley High
school. Emily is the daughter of Jim & Kem Rosecrans. She
has two sisters Olivia and Rachel and a brother David. She
enjoys sports, hunting, fishing and taking care of her
animals.
Emily is a kind loving, caring, independent bubbly young
lady. She is very involved at BVHS. She is an Educational
Talent Search Student, she participates in cheerleading,
basketball, and softball as well as Dorris 4-H, Dorris 4th
of July planning committee, and the Christmas parade.
Emily plans to attend Hartnell Community College and major
in Animal Science, then continue on to a major University
and become a large animal veterinarian.
Laura Plass is a 16 year old sophomore at Tulelake High
School. Laura is the daughter of Stephen and Tricia Plass.
She has two brothers John & Luke and a sister Sophie.
Volleyball, basketball, track and field, art, traveling,
meeting people and health related activities are some of the
things she enjoys.
Laura is a fun, enthusiastic your woman who is always
prepared for new experiences. She participates in FFA, FBLA,
Honor Roll, Varsity, Sports, and church activities.
Laura is excited to graduate from high school and continue
her education at a university in the medical field.
As hostesses of the Tulelake-Butte Valley Fair the girls
look forward to rising to the occasion of representing their
fair at various festivals and fairs this summer and fall.
Some of the venues the Fair Court has attended in the past
include, Shasta District Fair, Lassen County Fair, Siskiyou
Golden Fair, Klamath County Fair, Modoc District Fair,
Merrill Potato Festival, and Dorris 4th of July Celebration.
The highlight of the girl’s rein will be representing the
Tulelake-Butte Valley Fair as they each attend to their
royal duties throughout the duration of the fair September
4th-7th. As the fair approaches, listen for the girls on the
radio as they will be keeping the public informed of events
going on during this year at the Tulelake-Butte Valley Fair
where we will be celebrating out theme of “Where the Road
Ends and the Fun Begins”! Please visit the fairs website at
